Debenhams pre-lets NW1 offices at Regent's Place

Debenhams the department store retailer, has signed a leasehold agreement for the ground to fourth floors of 10 Brock Street, on a rental term of 25 years without a break option. Their new suite of headquarters offices will account for 40% of the building, which has been designed by architects Wilkinson Eyre. Michael Sharp, chief executive of Debenhams, said: “We are delighted to have secured space at Regent’s Place for our new headquarters. The estate is well positioned in the West End with great communication links across London. It also provides outstanding amenities and sense of community for its occupants. We look forward to working with British Land and moving into the new offices in 2013.” British Land has called its 500,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme the North East Quadrant (NEQ). Work started on the commercial site a year ago in October 2010, with completion scheduled for summer 2013. The NEQ development will complete BL’s overall Regent’s Place scheme, which overlooks Euston Road. It will comprise 340,000 sq ft of office space to rent in Euston, along with 40,000 sq ft of retail and community space, as well as 120,000 sq ft of housing. Regent’s Place is already home to a host of big name tenants including the Russian energy company Gazprom, Ricoh of Japan and Lend Lease of Australia. Tim Roberts, head of offices at British Land, said:“It is particularly pleasing to welcome to Regent’s Place a major UK corporate such as Debenhams, with whom we already enjoy a strong relationship.” The new development will complete the build out of the Regent’s Place estate, which when finished will provide close to 2 million sq ft of residential, retail and office space to let in NW1.
