The 15-storey Birmingham office tower is owned by Aviva and is just a short walk from Snow Hill Railway Station. The Wesleyan Assurance Society has agreed to rent the eighth floor of Aviva’s Colmore Gate office in Birmingham.
Colmore Gate is owned and managed by Aviva Investors and is located at the heart of the city’s central business district. The 15-storey tower has distinctive mirrored-glazing and provides 170,500 square feet of Grade A commercial space to let in Birmingham, B3.
The common areas of the property were recently refurbished with the ground floor reception area enhanced. Quoted rents are now at £22.50 per sq ft for space within Colmore Gate.
George Jennings of the agency acting for Aviva highlighted Colmore Gate's appeal as an impressive and well-located property that he feels has "stood the test of time with 96 per cent occupancy."
Jennings went on to reveal the signifcant interest the company had received following the relisting of the property.
Wesleyan is already well-established in the Colmore Business District and has its headquarters within a B4 office rental at Colmore Circus.
The banking and insurance group provides financial products targeted at clients within the medical, dental, legal and teaching professions. Over recent years the firm has acquired several complementary businesses which include Practice Plan Group and Medenta.
Wesleyan first opened an office in Colmore Gate in 2012, and with the business continuing to grow, it has now expanded to take a further floor. As a result Aviva has only 6,215 sq ft of unoccupied space to let within the building.
Wesleyan Assurance Society's Charles Barratt revealed the company's delight at securing the deal, which he feels has followed "a strong year with confidence returning to our markets.”
