The global engineering and consultancy practice has been based at Bechtel House for many years, as the location offers its international staff excellent transport links. The nine-storey building is prominently located along Hammersmith Road and spans 170,058 sq ft of W6 office space.
Bechtel House was itself the subject of an unsuccessful bid from Wainbridge. However, the Hammersmith Business Centre was eventually sold to Legal & General Property for £42.25m.
There has been a great deal of speculation that the firm was looking to relocate to new premises.Wainbridge has now agreed to lease Bechtel three floors within the FC200 building. The First Central property is located on the same business campus as the headquarters of Diageo, the international drinks company.
The property was acquired by Wainbridge for £16m from Royal Bank of Scotland. Bechtel will occupy 75,000 sq ft of Neasden office space at a rent of £28.50 / sq ft as part of a 10 year lease that is set to commence in June next year.
Over the past 18 months, Bechtel has seen Wainbridge attempt to buy its Hammersmith office and now become the firm’s landlord in Park Royal.
