To celebrate the release of Fifty Shades of Grey this Valentines weekend, we want to share our favourite billionaire offices with you. If, like us, you will be drooling over Mr. Christian Grey's office as much as his brooding face, then you've come to the right article.
An office for a CEO, especially a billionaire CEO, is a much needed sanctuary. It is a place to think, strategize and to create. Providing an all-important private space for the crème de la crème of the business world to ponder, brood and plan world domination.
So here we go, our favourite billionaire offices from our favourite billionaires.
But first let us just appreciate the majesty of Mr. Grey's huge... office space.
Ok, back to real life, we’re professionals here.
1. Mr. Michael Bloomberg
We know what you’re thinking... but the man gets stuff done, despite the mess. He's an American politician, business magnate and philanthropist worth $36.5 billion. He is the founder and CEO of Bloomberg L.P., a software, data and media company head quartered in NYC. He has also served as Mayor of New York from 2002 to 2013, not bad credentials. It's just a shame that some of those billions couldn't have gone on a cleaner for his mayoral office.
2. Mr. Warren Buffet
Classic and refined, just like the man himself. Mr. Warren Buffet, the most successful investor of the 20th Century, is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Reported to be worth $73.3 billion, he is the second richest man in the world. Yet, he doesn't own a mobile phone and doesn't have a computer on his desk (just look at the picture!). While his office may not be everything we imagined from one of the wealthiest men in the world, you have to respect its charming, Great Recession chic.
3. Miss. Tory Burch
Miss. Tory Burch is an American fashion designer, business woman and philanthropist. Best known as the CEO and Designer of Tory Burch LLC, she is worth $1 billion. She may not have as much in the bank as the others on our list but we adore her office and everyone loves a fashionable billionaire. Burch's office is reflective of her design style, "preppy-boho" whatever that means. We do know we love it though. The colour scheme and openness of the space is a great example of nurturing creativity in the business world.
4. Mr. Li Ka-Shing
Mr. Li Ka-Shing is a Chinese business magnate, investor and philanthropist. With a net worth of $31.9 billion, he is the richest person in Asia. Forced to leave school at 15 due to family issues, he laboured 16 hours a day in a plastics factory. In 1950 he founded Cheung Kong, a real estate investment company. Impressive and we moan about 8 hours with a *slightly* extended lunch break. We love the office, flooded with natural light and a gorgeous view of the Hong Kong skyline, it's hard not be a bit envious.
5. Mr. Mikhail Prokhorov
Mr. Mikhail Prokhorov is a Russian politician, businessman and philanthropist. Worth $10.1 billion, his office is the stuff of dreams. Flooded with natural light from a huge dome skylight, the office exudes understated power and wealth. Well done Mr. Prokhorov. As if the office wasn't enough, he is one of Russia’s leading industrialists, specialising in precious metals. Yes ladies, that does mean gold.
So there you have it, some of our favourite billionaire offices. Just ready for the Fifty Shades of Grey fans to swoop in and fulfil their wildest, and weirdest, dreams. So happy Valentines Day, whether you'll be seeing the film this weekend, staying in with that special someone or crying into a bucket of ice cream (us).
