The global payments processing firm has signed a 10 year office lease with Bruntwood property company – the owner and developer of the 200,000 sq ft Cheshire Business Centre.
Situated with the expansive 220 acre grounds of an aristocratic country house, the Bruntwood development offers a mix of newly built and refurbished office space to let in WA16. The Knutsford office campus is let to 65 separate companies who together employ over 1,200 members of staff.
Among the attractions of the Booths Park office space is an impressive list of leisure facilities. These include cycle and running tracks, a fishing lake and a cricket club.
The landlord and agents have stated their belief that these staff benefits appealed to MasterCard.
MasterCard was advised by Richard Wharton from JLL, and he was able to confirm that “From our initial discussions with MasterCard it was clear that providing employees with pleasant surroundings and encouraging a healthy work-life balance was important to the company and a central part of the brief."
In 2011, the global payments processer posted total revenues of $6.7bn. The consumer finance business already has an office in Warrington.
Additionally, the company has a UK head office in Canary Wharf and another team operating from Bedfordshire. By the time MasterCard moves into unit 5, Bruntwood are confident that they will reach the 84 % occupancy level at Booths Park, by completing several deals that are currently under negotiation.
