The Jamie Oliver company have put plans in place to transform 18,000 sq ft of Islington office space into a “high-performing multifunctional collaborative workspace” across two floors on Benwell Road.
Oliver’s head of art Sarah Tildesley and head of facilities Rob Hannington will work alongside London-based office design and fit-out company Oktra to design and construct the site in Islington which will bring together three teams in one office.
The Jamie Oliver Media Group produces magazines, books and online content for the celebrity chef’s brand, as they moved to Holloway from offices in Shoreditch. Their head office is based on 21 Nile Street.
The ground office floor will provide a collaborative space for its media team. The multifunctional centre promises to combine a breakout area with an informal meeting space, while the second floor will boast a spacious kitchen with a very special and contemporary design.
Cheré Falconer, lead designer at Oktra, said: “The idea is to create an ‘Instagram moment’ for anyone coming through the front doors. Not only a space that fully supports the activities of its workers, but adds a vibrancy and charm that captures the unique personality of the Jamie Oliver franchise.”
The Jamie Oliver group consists of four key entities: The Jamie Oliver Media Group, which is responsible for content across TV, books, magazines and digital; Jamie Oliver Licensing Ltd, which handles the licensed product range and endorsements; The Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, which oversees the restaurant brands across the globe; and Jamie Oliver's Food Foundation, which aims to provide access to information and to educate about food.
