Nick Leslau’s Max Group is confident that St Katherine Docks will offer QA a “premier business location in the heart of central London”.
The learning and training company will occupy the third floor of International House, which sits alongside the West Marina. The renovation work in progress and is due for completion in early 2012, when the 10-year lease will start at a rent of £37.50 per sq ft.
For Max Property Group, this is the first E1 office letting in Tower Hill deal since acquiring the central London marina complex last year. The property fund paid £156m and have outsourced the managed of the scheme to Prestbury Investments.
Prestbury Investments, Ben Walford said: "QA is the UK's leading learning company and we are delighted that such a high-profile company has agreed to lease office space within International House, demonstrating St Katharine Docks' ability to appeal to a wide range of occupiers."
St Kathrine Dock is surrounded by some of London’s most historically significant buildings. It is across the road from the former offices of the Royal Mint and beside the iconic Tower Bridge and Tower of London. Uniquely, it is central London’s only Thameside marina and can accommodate cabin cruisers and Super-yachts within its 160 berths.
Max Property was attracted by the potential to redevelop the 600,000 sq ft of E1 office and retail floor space. Since the purchase in July 2011, they have appointed two firms of architects Morey Smith and Buckley Gray Yeoman to rejuvenate the historic docks.
There are now proposals to redevelop Commodity Quay building by remodelling the interior to include mezzanine floors that will add an extra 34,000 sq ft the floor space to the 130,000 sq ft dockside office property.
