About Commercial Street

Commercial Street is a road in Spitalfields, spanning from Aldgate to Shoreditch, and is home to a number of office premises for businesses to choose from. The area has long been associated with commercial and industrial activity, and this continues today. Until the late 20th century, the area was dominated by Spitalfields fruit and vegetable market, as well as the rag trade, but when Spitalfields buildings were redeveloped, much of the street was given over to retail stores, fashionable clothing shops and restaurants.

To the south of the street are former warehouse buildings which have since been converted into a mix of residential and office premises. Offering innovative workspace and a number of nearby transport links, Commercial Street is a great location for companies looking for office space in a vibrant part of the city.

Business Premises in Commercial Street

There is a mix of offices to rent in converted Victorian and industrial buildings that have been beautifully refurbished, and modern, dedicated business centres offering state-of-the-art technology. There is a mix of private offices and coworking space, alongside high-tech meeting rooms and stylish break out areas.

Transport Links

Offices in the area are located just a short distance from a range of transport links. Aldgate East is the nearest underground station, located at the southern end of Commercial Street. Shoreditch High Street Overground station is at the northern end, whilst Liverpool Street is a short walk in distance. There are several bus routes that provide a good service in the area.

Shopping and Restaurants

Alongside converted buildings and modern offices, Commercial Street is home to a number of independent stores, boutique and specialist shops, as well as cafes, wine bars and restaurants. The world famous Petticoat Lane Sunday market is just a short walk and well-worth a visit, and Brick Lane market is also nearby. In the shadow of Christ Church is the Old Spitalfields market which combines a mix of modern shops and restaurants with traditional market stalls.
