About Lancaster Gate

Lancaster Gate forms part of the Borough of Westminster and is famed for its Victorian stucco-fronted houses and picturesque garden squares. The area has some of the best restaurants and shopping boutiques that London has to offer, as well as access to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

In its prime, Lancaster Gate’s Christ Church was branded the ‘thousand-pound church’ because of the wealthy congregation that attended each Sunday. The church has since been demolished, making way for housing. For over 70 years, this area was most famous for being home of the Football Association, before it relocated to Soho Square in 2000. Today, a range of professions choose to base their offices in Lancaster Gate. Because of the close proximity to Westminster, Lancaster Gate is a prime spot for legal professions and consulting businesses, providing access to the City for financial businesses as well.

Much of this area is undergoing redevelopment, with properties being snapped up by investors for offices, hotels and luxury flats. What’s more, the arrival of Crossrail at Paddington Station will transform commuter journeys, taking just 17 minutes to reach Canary Wharf and ten minutes for journeys to Liverpool Street.
