Costain Group plc is to rent 37,000 sq ft of Manchester office space on Aviator Way, M22.
1500 Aviator Way is located on the Manchester Business Park, close to Manchester Airport. The previous tenant of the building was Hutchison 3G, the telecoms corporation behind Three mobile phone network. Alex Vaughan of Costain said: "We are delighted to announce our move to the Manchester Business Park. The move heralds the start of an exciting new chapter for us as we continue to build, develop and enhance our capabilities to meet our customers’ broader requirements."
The international construction and engineering services provider has agreed a sub-let with Hutchison 3G and will refurbish the second hand space over the coming months. Costain’s Group Property Manager Lucy Fleming explained that the firm: “will be commencing an extensive programme of fit-out works to provide a bright and modern working environment to support our business.”
Once the refurbishment of 1500 Aviator Way has been completed, the M22 office rental will become Costain’s new Greater Manchester headquarters. The current regional HQ is in Warrington on the Trident Business Park and occupied by Costain staff specialising in the Energy and Natural Gas Storage sectors. The owner of the Aviator Way estate is Goodman and James Raven, the firm's Development Director, commented: “Costain has played an integral part in Manchester’s development and future, so it is a privilege to welcome its team to Manchester Business Park.” Goodman UK is a subsidiary of the Goodman Group of Australia. The Sydney-headquartered property corporation has global assets amounting to 9.6 billion Australian dollars.
