EnSilica has moved its headquarters to the West Forest Gate office development in Wokingham.
The silicon chip designer originally began life as a start-up company with four members of staff. EnSilica experts have grown the business by expanding their client base among leading firms such as Fujitsu and Motorola.
EnSilica’s managing director, Ian Lankshear said: “EnSilica is a significant local success story, but our success is hidden deep inside the branded consumer products we use every day, so most people have not heard of us”.
The Wokingham firm provides semiconductor solutions that power games consoles, digital cameras, smart-phones and the ever expanding market for touch-screen tablets Previously based at The Barn in Waterloo Road, the head office team has relocated just 1 and half miles across town.
As well as having more room to expand, the staff will benefit from being closer to Wokingham train station and the amenities of the town centre.
The opening ceremony was attended by John Redwood, the local constituency MP and former cabinet minister.
Mr Redwood later commented “I wish them well as they seek to expand geographically and find new customers worldwide. I hope they remain happy in Wokingham, where they have now been for some time”.
The growing business now employs a staff of 25 in the UK, at its Berkshire HQ and regional office in Cambridge. On top of this, EnSilica already has an overseas presence at Bangalore in India and the company is now actively seeking an office in California.
